Systemic Construction – Interconnected Processes and Integrated Planning
Systemic construction views architecture as part of a comprehensive, interconnected system comprising planning, production, use and demolition, which reflects the entire life cycle of a building. It combines structural, environmental and social aspects and utilises digital tools such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) or parametric simulations to analyse and manage interactions between these levels.
In research, systemic construction is increasingly seen as the key to transforming the construction industry – towards a data-driven, collaborative and resource-efficient practice. This involves not only technical innovation, but also the development of new organisational forms and value chains that promote interdisciplinary and efficient working practices in the construction sector.
